The Story Behind The Shot
This picture I took in 1987 in the jungle of El Petén, Guatemala, during one of my first trips trough Central America. Originally, I thought the ocelot would immediately chase the parrot, even kill him. This threatening atmosphere that is transported by the picture was for the observer on the sidelines omnipresent. But in fact, the old, wise macaw danced on the twig branch for so long until the young, naive ocelot nearly fell from the tree.
